Responsible for the administration, sales, profitability, safety, staffing and training of a department in the restaurant. Oversee the department to include guest relations, supervision of all staff and staffing levels, proper restaurant ambience, housekeeping, set-up, food & beverage quality, safety and pace.



  • Assist the Kitchen Manager (KM) in day to day operations of the BOH 
  • Perform line and prep functions alongside hourly employees 
  • Perform food & smallwares orders as needed 
  • Help maintain a fully staffed BOH department 
  • Communicate effectively with staff, guests, and other members of management 
  • Oversee all foodservice operations in KM’s absence 
  • Maintain a clean & sanitary BOH environment 
  • Help maintain budgeted labor & food costs 
  • Prepare reports as needed 
  • Ensure the safety of employees & guests at all times

  • 2 years of restaurant experience 
  • Minimum of 2 years managing the day-to-day operations of a high volume restaurant 
  • Minimum 2 years working in a BOH role 
  • Ability to impact P&Ls

  • Ability to motivate, train and supervise employees 
  • Strong interpersonal skills 



This role operates in a kitchen environment, housed with equipment such as an oven, grill, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise.



The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, talk, see and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. Able to work at least eleven hour shifts with extensive standing/walking. The employee may frequently lift and/or move materials/product up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more. Frequent hand washing is required. This is a full-time position requiring flexibility with work schedule including working late nights and weekends. The average number of working hours are 55 hours per week. 



This position requires less than 25% travel. Travel may be outside the local area and overnight.
